CANCELLED - Wind Farm Tour (Meet at Red Horse Diner)
CANCELLED - Saturday, April 18th, 2020: Meet at Red Horse Diner for lunch at noon, followed by scenic drive at 1:00 PM to Wild Horse Wind Farm.
Set high on a ridge, the Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility and Renewable Energy Center provides visitors an up-close look at the facility’s 149 wind turbines, as well as a breath-taking 360-degree views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and the Columbia Basin. Take a tour or explore the educational displays to learn more about wind and solar technology, as well as the area's unique natural history. Weather permitting, the Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility offers free guided tours with stops at a solar array, wind turbine blade, generator, and gearbox, as well as a look inside the base of the wind turbine! Our guided tour will be April 18th, from the Renewable Energy Center at 2 p.m. https://www.pse.com/pages/facilities/wild-horse We will start with lunch at noon at the Red Horse Dinner in Ellensburg and depart at 1:00 PM for a fun drive to the Wind Farm.
